Congratulations to Lee Von Der Hey and posthumously to Jose Calderon Gallegos.
Jose was the driving force in Mexican pylon and many of the racers today owe a debt of gratitude to him. I understand his accomplishments will be memorialized in the NMPRA website soon. Salvador Barrios accepted the award for Jose.
Lee has been racing since 1972, CD'd numerous contests, and built and designed successful Q40's and FAI race racers over the years, but it's they last several years after moving to North Caroline to help build and and assembling Nelson racing engines with an ailing Mike Langlois, and then continuing after his untimely death that gained him consideration for the Hall of Fame.
Lee, congratulations, and well deserved.
